Click here to continueBruce Lavine joined WisdomTree in May 2006 as President and COO. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), primarily in its exchange-traded funds business. During his tenure at BGI, Bruce held various leadership positions, including CFO and Director of New Product Development for Barclays iShares, where he led the effort to launch more than 50 iShares products. Most recently, Bruce served as Head of iShares Europe, based in London. Prior to joining BGI, Bruce worked as a plan sponsor, helping to manage the assets of the Bristol-Myers Squibb pension plan. He holds a BS and an MBA from the University of Virginia as well as the CFA designation.
As Director of Research, Jeremy Schwartz is responsible for the WisdomTree equity Index construction process and oversees research across the WisdomTree equity family. Prior to joining WisdomTree, Jeremy was Professor Jeremy Siegel's head research assistant and helped with the research and writing of Stocks for the Long Run and The Future for Investors. He is also co-author of the Financial Analysts Journal paper "What Happened to the Original Stocks in the S&P 500?" and the Wall Street Journal article "The Great American Bond Bubble." Jeremy is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia.
Howard Silverblatt is senior index analyst for S&P Indices. In addition to general market research and commentary, Howard is responsible for the statistical analysis of Standard & Poor's family of U.S. Indices, including the world's most followed stock market index, the S&P 500.
Howard has been with Standard & Poor's since 1977, and has held various analytic, business development, and product positions. He joined S&P Indices in 1983 as an editor, and has since received numerous corporate and industry awards, most notably for his work on the creation and development of Standard & Poor's core earnings and Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). Howard is widely quoted in top tier news publications around the world, providing in-depth analysis and information on a myriad of topics impacting the investment industry.
Howard graduated with a B.S. in Business Management from Syracuse University.
Michael Johnston is the Director and co-founder of ETF Database, a Web-based resource for ETF investors. Mr. Johnston provides news and commentary on the ETF industry, as well as actionable investment ideas and ETF analysis. Mr. Johnston also maintains ETFdb's line of analytical tools, including an ETF Screener for investors analyzing potential ETF investments, and ETFdb Pro, a line of analyst reports and model portfolios designed to help investors utilize ETFs to meet their investment goals.
Mr. Johnston is a regular contributor to major print and television media, and has been featured on Business News Network, The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger, and CNN Money, among others. He serves as the Senior ETF Contributor to TheStreet.com, and his columns are syndicated through a number of financial news sites and networks.
Mr. Johnston is a regular participant on panels at conferences focusing on the ETF industry. Recent engagements include leading the "Examining Exchange Traded Vehicle Performance For 2010" workshop at the Exchange-Traded Funds Investing Summit 2010 and serving as a panelist at the 2010 World Series of Indexing & ETFs Conference and 2010 Super Bowl of Indexing Conference.
Mr. Johnston has completed the exam portion of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, and obtained his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to founding ETF Database, Mr. Johnston worked in a private client service group performing valuations of private companies operating in a wide range of industries.
Mr. Matthew C. Duda is a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst, having joined Western Asset in 2001 after serving as Vice President and Investment Strategist at Credit Suisse-First Boston Corporation. He has served as an Investment Strategist and Research Associate for the Union Bank of Switzerland and for Lehman Brothers. Mr. Duda worked for the New York City Economic Development Corporation and has been an Emerging Markets Debt Analyst for Merrill Lynch & Company.
Mr. Duda graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and from the Graduate School of Arts and Science at New York University. He is a CFA charterholder.
